Back in action! We went 3-1 last night with the biggest play cashing easily as the Phoenix Suns destroy the Los Angeles Lakers in a 108-90 victory. Mikal Bridges was able to hit the over on points with 14 vs the 10.5 point margin and the Minnesota Timberwolves @ Dallas Mavericks just beat the Over 214.5 points with 1.5 points to spare that came from two clutch free-throws by Jalen Brunson with 25 seconds left in the 4th quarter.
Our losing pick looked promising, up until the five minute mark of the first quarter as the Pacers where locked down by the Miami Heat. Indiana had no sign of life the entire game and failed to shoot the 3 effectively. They struggled opening up the paint which resulted in a 35% FG percentage. The heat on the other hand were lights out having 66 of their points come from beyond the arch.
I’m getting into a groove now, I feel like John Anthony.
Underdogs are my favorite kind dog which is why for todays #1 pick I’ve decided to take Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics with the Cavaliers +190 money-line.
The Cavaliers are on a 6 game win streak and I think they can make it 7 tonight. Through their last fast five games the cavaliers have made 50% of their field goals, and 40% of their threes, compared to the Celtics 45% field goals and 34% of threes. If the Cavaliers continue to be effective from the three point line it will allow the paint to open up which will bring the Celtics to their knees.
Risks that play into this bet are the fact that Jarrett Allen is out due to COVID protocol, and Kevin Love is listed as questionable.
In my opinion the Celtics are just not performing lately, basically giving away a win with a 7 point lead in the fourth quarter against the 76ers, and struggling to make shots throughout the entire game. They will be chalking up another loss and adding to that losing streak tonight.
Next up I’m looking at the matchup between the Denver Nuggets @ Oklahoma City Thunder with the nuggets -5.5 @ -114. The nuggets are have established themselves as a NBA Finals contending team the past 2 years and are facing an unexperienced team in the Thunder.
The nuggets are shooting 49% from the field and 39% over the last five games compared to the thunder 42% from the field and 34% from three. This matchup should result in an easy cover and I’m predicting that the nuggets win by at least 10 points.
Keys for the nuggets to win this game are just to continue playing nuggets basketball, draw double teams with Jokic in the paint and have him facilitate to open shooters. From there players just need to make the shots on their wide open looks.
I usually have a third pick but I’m going to switch it up and leave this 7 leg parlay instead with +3487 odds. Isn’t it beautiful!
Best of luck to anyone betting tonight! Tomorrows picks will be posted by 3pm MT
